No tripod? No problem!

The NIKKOR Z 600mm f/6.3 VR S has been designed with handheld shooting in mind. Coming in at only 1390g (excluding the tripod collar, 1470g with) and only 278mm long, the lens is small and light enough to fit in your regular bag and, thanks to 5.5 stops of VR, pictures will be rock-steady and super sharp. The lens is also balanced so that the centre of gravity is closer to the body, meaning users are less aware of the (already light) weight.

Phase Fresnel meets S-Line

The light, short construction of a super-tele with a long focal length is made possible by the inclusion of a Phase Fresnel (PF) element. The inclusion of three ED glass and one SR lens elements also suppresses axial chromatic aberration. A Nano Crystal coating helps clarity and sharpness of images and, as a prime lens, it is less prone to ghosting.

Using the Z Teleconverter TC-2.0x or Z Teleconverter TC-1.4x will add extra reach while still allowing you to maximise the use of the AF and VR functions. Plus, you won’t have to sacrifice superior sharpness and detail with a teleconverter. With a TC-2.0x attached, you will have a 1200mm equivalent lens that’s less than 300mm in length. Moveable parts of the lens barrel are all sealed and there’s a rubber gasket on the lens mount itself, while a fluorine coating is applied to the front of the lens for superior anti-fouling. With the latest firmware, you can also use memory recall, where frequently used focus positions can be saved to the lens and quickly recalled.*
